Primary Responsibilities:
- Advise on pertinent financial services and payment regulations
- Handle regulatory inquiries and submissions
- Oversee legal regulatory assessments for strategic agreements and contracts in EMEA
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes in EMEA, such as MICA and DORA, and guide BitGo accordingly
- Support compliance obligations and respond to evolving regulatory landscape
- Provide guidance on regulatory concerns to internal stakeholders in EMEA
- Escalate matters to senior management when necessary
- Assist beyond specified duties as required
Desired Qualifications:
- Licensed attorney in Germany (first and second state exam passed)
- At least 2 years PQE at a top-tier law firm with international exposure or in-house legal experience at a global financial services firm
- Hands-on experience with regulatory bodies like BaFin, Bundesbank, and external auditors
- Capable of managing multiple tasks amidst shifting deadlines and priorities within a dynamic setting
- Evaluate and align legal risks with business needs effectively
- Interest in blockchain and digital asset sectors is preferred
- Adaptive, proactive approach to work and eagerness to broaden knowledge
- Proficient in German and English languages, both written and verbal
