Job Summary

Astra DAO is looking for a skilled Big Data Engineer to support the operations of our Data Scientists and Engineering team. The role involves constructing information frameworks using SQL, Python, R, Java, and C++, applying machine learning techniques, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure project requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and clients to understand task requirements.
• Design and develop infrastructure for accessing and analyzing big data.
• Optimize existing frameworks for efficiency.
• Test structures to ensure functionality.
• Create data pipelines from diverse sources using varied data formats.
• Prepare raw data for Data Scientists to manipulate.
• Implement data validation and reconciliation processes.
• Maintain accessible data backups for team members.
• Stay updated on industry standards and technological advancements for improved output quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Big Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in Python, Java, or other programming languages.
• Proficiency in SQL & No-SQL, with Snowflake Cloud DW & MongoDB experience preferred.
• Understanding of schema design and dimensional data modeling.
• Proficient in SQL, NoSQL, Python, C++, Java, R.
• Experience with Data Lake, Data Warehouse, or equivalent.
• Expertise in AWS Cloud services.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration.
• Skilled in managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
