The Institute of Free Technology, an emerging startup studio nurturing ventures that support a freer internet for evolving communities, is in search of a Trader (or experienced Quant with an interest in trading) to enrich its Investment team at IFT. The primary focus will be on liquid (listed) crypto markets. The successful candidate will initially collaborate on team strategies and embark on developing their approach. Career progression may lead to managing a portion of the liquid token fund for a period spanning between 3-6 months, subject to demonstrated capability. A supportive and cooperative team of investment specialists is available for guidance and mentorship.

Looking for a Candidate Who:

• Holds a combined 3 years of trading experience in Personal trading, Traditional finance, or Crypto markets.
• Possesses trading expertise in directional trading, market-neutral strategies, or other consistently profitable approaches.
• Has at least 3 years involvement and interest in crypto, ideally with a background in trading/investing using their capacity.
• Demonstrates strategy backtesting proficiency utilizing platforms like TradingView, Python, or RealTest.
• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Investments, or a related field.

Main Responsibilities:

50% Team and Business Support:

• Engage in team projects such as backtesting indicators and creating/maintaining live dashboards.
• Address internal investment queries and perform analysis.
• Produce performance and risk management reports for your strategies.

50% Personal Trading and Strategy Implementation:

• Conceptualize, test, and refine trading strategies across crypto markets.
• Develop systems, processes, and capabilities to enhance outcome levels.
• Generate consistent alpha with responsible risk management.

Other Tasks:

• Maintain thorough trading records, metrics, and position risk management.
• Offer regular performance and risk analytics.
• Contribute to team discussions regarding strategy and market analysis.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Competitive base salary: $80-100k.
• Team bonus based on outperformance relative to ETH benchmarks.
