Role Overview
The Data Engineer position at Arbitrum Foundation involves a pivotal role in revamping data infrastructure and offer critical insights to support decision-making processes. Responsibilities include setting up data pipelines, integrating diverse data sources, and developing and maintaining dashboards to provide actionable information for leadership and internal teams.
This hybrid role blends technical proficiency in data engineering with the strategic impact of analytics, working collaboratively across departments to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and utility.
Role Responsibilities
- Implement scalable data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and storing data from various sources such as blockchain data, Google Analytics, and CRM systems.
- Establish and maintain a centralized data warehouse to integrate structured and unstructured data.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and reporting purposes.
- Create and manage dashboards visualizing key metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure data accuracy and reliability through validation and quality assurance processes.
- Automate data processes through Python and SQL scripting to improve operational efficiency.
- Incorporate Web3 analytics tools for blockchain data insights.
Required Skills
- Proficient in SQL (e.g., BigQuery, PostgreSQL) for data manipulation.
- Experience with ETL tools like Airbyte, Fivetran, or equivalent solutions.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
- Ability to work with APIs to extract and integrate data from diverse sources.
- Understanding of blockchain data structures and transactions.
- Practical mindset in choosing between building from scratch and using existing solutions.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Looker, Google Data Studio, etc.
- Effective communication skills to convey insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of blockchain indexing and smart contract transactions decoding.
- Hands-on experience with specific analytics tools like Dune Analytics, Allium, Nansen.
- Familiarity with data governance best practices.
