Director of Logistics and Inventory
Role Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Director of Logistics and Inventory to oversee the logistics and inventory operations supporting local site operations across various states. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring efficient inventory management, logistics coordination, and operational compliance in alignment with the company's strategic objectives. We need a hands-on leader with significant experience in managing complex logistics and inventory workflows within a multi-location organization.
Location: This role is based at our Norcross office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of freight forwarding logistics, local and international transportation, vendor management, contract management, and compliance.
- Establish, train, and mentor a proficient logistics team operating across multiple states.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive logistics and inventory management strategy to support local site operations and meet company objectives.
- Implement and enforce inventory management controls and best practices.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline logistics and inventory workflows, ensuring resource efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Monitor and optimize KPIs to evaluate performance and identify areas for continuous improvements.
- Conduct regular audits of logistics and inventory processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with executive leadership for the successful implementation of a Warehouse Management System aligned with company strategies.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, technologies, and processes.
- Perform any additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Logistics/Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field is required (master’s degree preferred).
- Possess 8+ years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, inventory management, or supply chain operations, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership position.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic logistics and inventory controls.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (knowledge of NetSuite preferred).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and advanced Excel capabilities, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and ad-hoc reporting.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support operational requirements.
Preferred Certifications:
- APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
