The individual in the role of Director of Security Operations will lead the regional execution of CleanSpark’s security strategy across Wyoming facilities. This position entails overseeing site-level security operations, coordinating with vendors, and deploying technology to protect people, assets, and infrastructure. Collaborating with various departments including IT, GSOC, vendors, and senior management is crucial to integrate cutting-edge security technologies, conducting risk assessments while ensuring operational readiness. This role demands proactive leadership, decision-making under pressure, and the ability to align field operations with CleanSpark’s security objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the regional implementation of CleanSpark’s security strategy in Wyoming.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) in alignment with company strategy and mining operations.
- Perform regular site inspections and risk assessments to drive ongoing enhancements.
- Implement and assess advanced security technologies such as CCTV, AI video analytics, autonomous drone systems, and GSOC platforms.
- Coordinate with IT, GSOC, and operations teams for seamless integration of security technologies.
- Act as the main point of contact for vendors and external security partners, overseeing their performance, validating SLAs, and conducting audits, incident reviews, and test scenarios.
- Coordinating emergency responses with GSOC vendors for 24/7 remote monitoring and incident resolution.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate security and operations personnel across all sites.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to align security strategies with business objectives.
- Support team preparedness through training programs, drills, and awareness initiatives.
- Manage and respond to incidents, handle escalations, and ensure timely resolution according to corporate standards.
- Foster a culture of proactive security awareness and operational excellence throughout the region.
- Supervise drone operations across regional sites, including scheduling patrols, reporting, and monitoring utilization metrics.
- Develop and execute training programs to ensure guard force and site managers maintain FAA Part 107 certification.
- Handle vendor relationships, procurement, and maintenance contracts for drone hardware/software across regional sites.
- Work with Corporate Security Technology and GSOC leadership to refine drone SOPs, incorporate AI analytics, and assess emerging UAS technologies.
- Provide insights on budgeting for scaling drone coverage in line with site growth.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or related field; or equivalent military leadership experience.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in physical security, risk management, or critical infrastructure protection.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing multi-site or decentralized teams.
- Experience in incident response, threat mitigation, and emergency operations.
- Familiarity with modern security technologies like CCTV, access control, and remote monitoring.
- Ability to navigate large industrial sites and respond to time-sensitive events happening across outdoor environments.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license (driving is essential for this role).
- Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
- Strong leadership qualities with a track record of making sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to brief executives, coordinate with vendors, and guide field teams.
- Capability to thrive in dynamic environments, adapt to various site conditions, and align actions with broader corporate security objectives.

- Military, certified law enforcement, or high-pressure field leadership experience.
- Successful track record in managing security operations across multiple sites.

- Proficiency in biometric access controls, physical security systems, and incident management.
- Experience collaborating with government agencies and external security partners.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies like AI video analytics, drones, and integrated surveillance systems.
- History of driving operational excellence and promoting a proactive security culture.
