Role
Toku is seeking an adept payroll leader to contribute to the enhancement and expansion of our intricate global financial systems. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role presents a unique opportunity to manage and optimize both fiat and crypto payroll structures. The position involves interaction with the company's founders and places a strong emphasis on client engagement.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive team leader with at least 7 years of experience in managing payroll operations, ideally with exposure to crypto and blockchain technologies. There are abundant growth prospects as the company continues to evolve.
Responsibilities
- Supervise payroll activities across EMEA and APAC regions for over 15 countries.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and arrange payroll data as per set schedules.
- Ensure timely and accurate review and reconciliation of payroll data to guarantee compliant and precise payments to employees and external entities.
- Uphold accurate records, processes, and protocols to ensure adherence to payroll laws in multiple jurisdictions.
- Monitor payroll service providers' performance and enforce alignment of new country payrolls with organizational standards.
- Address and resolve payroll-related issues efficiently.
- Manage statutory filing obligations and remain current on payroll compliance for designated countries.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal staff, external entities, business partners, and vendors regarding payroll matters.
- Stay updated on global payroll regulations, taxation laws, and compliance requirements, especially concerning cryptocurrency transactions.
- Collaborate closely with Customer Success and Implementation teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and ongoing support.
Requirements
- MBA, BS, or equivalent qualifications.
- 7+ years of experience in financial management encompassing payroll operations and leadership roles.
- Profound comprehension of global payroll statutes, tax directives, and compliance benchmarks.
- Background in early or mature-stage global startups.
- Deep knowledge of payroll regulations, accounting principles, and SEC/IRS guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective organizational competencies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of spotting growth opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote and dynamic setting.
- A proactive approach with a background in founding companies or engaging in entrepreneurial ventures.
