About the role
Toku is in search of an adept payroll leader to oversee the development and expansion of its global financial infrastructure. This pivotal role, reporting to the Head of Finance, offers a unique opportunity to optimize both fiat and crypto payroll systems. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with expertise in payroll management, preferably having exposure to crypto and blockchain technologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead payroll operations across EMEA and APAC regions, managing payrolls in over 15 countries.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and organize payroll data as per schedules.
- Review and reconcile payroll data in a timely manner to ensure accurate and compliant payments.
- Maintain updated records and procedures to ensure compliance with payroll regulations in diverse jurisdictions.
- Monitor payroll provider performance and ensure alignment of new country payrolls with business standards.
- Address and resolve payroll-related issues efficiently.
- Manage statutory filing obligations and stay updated on payroll compliance for the respective countries.
- Act as a primary point of contact for payroll inquiries from internal and external parties.
- Stay abreast of global payroll regulations and tax laws, especially related to cryptocurrency transactions.
- Work closely with Customer Success and Implementation teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and experience.
Requirements
- MBA, BS, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 7 years in financial management, including experience in payroll operations and leadership.
- Profound knowledge of global payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
- Experience in managing finances in global startup environments.
- Strong grasp of payroll regulations, accounting principles, and regulatory standards.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a history of identifying growth opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote and agile setting.
- Past experience in founding companies or side projects is desirable.
