E-commerce Operations Manager
Our company is seeking a dedicated individual to take on the pivotal role of overseeing operations for our expanding consumer brand in Taiwan. As the lead in this operational role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of operations single-handedly, as there isn't an established team in place. Your duties will span a wide range of functions, including international import and product certification, logistics management, inventory planning, overseeing the D2C online store, and ensuring top-notch customer experience on a daily basis.
The primary challenge of this role is to establish robust and data-driven operations within a lean structure. This includes enhancing demand forecasting, optimizing inventory turnover, and implementing the much-needed automation and SOPs that are currently lacking in the operations function. Additionally, as the brand diversifies its sales channels, you will be tasked with evaluating warehouse capacity and spearheading cost efficiencies in inventory and logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Take charge of demand forecasting and inventory planning across all sales channels, with a focus on improving forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and allocation efficiency while minimizing stockouts and managing slow-moving stock effectively.
- Oversee international ordering, import processes, customs clearance, as well as product inspection and certification tasks like BSMI and NCC applications.
- Lead the daily operations of inbound and outbound logistics, which includes managing shipping, receiving inspections, stock movements, and collaborating with 3PL and logistics partners.
- Evaluate the need for warehouse relocation or expansion as inventory levels increase, and drive cost-saving initiatives in both inventory management and logistics.
- Manage the end-to-end operations of the Shopify back office, which involves maintaining order details, product information, and inventory data.
- Attend to customer inquiries on a daily basis and oversee after-sales service, returns, exchanges, and complaints management while developing efficient SOPs, setting KPIs, and implementing automation to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or e-commerce operations.
- Hands-on experience in import, inbound/outbound operations, and inventory management, with the ability to autonomously navigate the full operations process.
- Demonstrated proficiency in demand forecasting and inventory management.
- Proven track record of managing 3PL partners and external logistics service providers.
- Strong skills in Excel and data analysis, enabling you to translate operational data into actionable improvement strategies.
- Comfortable with hands-on daily tasks and capable of working independently and proactively within a small team setting.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, to facilitate collaboration with overseas headquarters.
Preferred Skills:
- Practical experience with the Shopify back office.
- Previous involvement in product inspection and certification processes such as BSMI or NCC.
- Experience managing multi-channel inventory across platforms like Shopee or momo.
- Background in D2C online store management or experience in process optimization, automation initiatives, or SOP development within a startup or small team environment.
