Job Responsibilities
Lead the team focused on blockchain and cryptocurrency aspects for Bitpanda and drive the lightning network implementation.
Key Duties
- Outline technical roadmaps and collaborate with product owners to prioritize impactful services, considering technical debt.
- Motivate and develop your team to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Conduct agile ceremonies like daily scrums, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to enhance agile practices continuously.
- Coordinate with other managers, stakeholders, and teams to ensure alignment of microservices architecture with broader company objectives.
- Conduct regular career development discussions with team members and provide support during periods of change and uncertainty.
Ideal Candidate
- Possesses a foundational understanding of Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technology and is eager to deepen knowledge.
- Demonstrates effective leadership skills, ability to guide in uncertain circumstances, influence technical discussions, and contribute to software engineers' growth.
- Holds previous experience in technical leadership roles with expertise in developing digital products, software architecture, and agile processes.
- Capable of conducting performance reviews and setting new development goals, hands-on, self-motivated, and actively involved in projects.
- Familiarity with Python development, AWS Services, DevOps infrastructure, Infrastructure-as-Code, Apache Kafka, crypto trading, smart contracts, Web3, and Cryptonodes.

What You’ll Do
Design and maintain comprehensive risk frameworks tailored to Web3 systems (protocol, liquidity, counterparty, smart contract).
Monitor and analyze on-chain activity, market volatility, and ecosystem health to identify emerging threats.
Work closely with treasury, quant, and governance teams to ensure risk-adjusted strategies.
Establish and document risk policies and mitigation plans (both operational and token-economic).
Contribute to internal audits, compliance with applicable jurisdictions, and protocol transparency.
Engage with community and DAO contributors to maintain open risk communication
You’re a Great Fit If You
Have 3–5+ years in risk management, quantitative finance, or DeFi / crypto projects.
Know your way around DeFi protocols, liquidity pools, staking, on-chain analytics tools (Dune, Nansen, Arkham, etc.).
Understand tokenomics, smart contract audit principles, and treasury diversification strategies.
Feel at home reading Etherscan, analyzing TVL, and tracking wallet flows.
Communicate clearly, document well, and think both strategically and hands-on.
