We are looking for an exceptional engineering leader with expertise in building mission-critical distributed systems and managing high-performing teams. This role requires comfort in a fast-paced environment with many moving parts. You will be responsible for leading our team in the development of the Cross Chain Interoperability Protocol, offering a groundbreaking opportunity to contribute to the global blockchain infrastructure that will shape digital agreements of the future.
Your Impact
- Develop the engineering roadmap and strategy aligned with the product roadmap
- Manage and deliver core protocol milestones and features effectively
- Efficiently oversee the production environment of CCIP with high availability, reliability, and resiliency
- Empower, challenge, and mentor engineers to enhance their individual technical leadership and impact through continuous feedback and providing context
- Drive the engineering hiring pipeline, expanding the team by recruiting exceptional engineers
- Collaborate with company leaders to establish best-in-class engineering practices that align with effective developer contribution
Requirements
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or managerial role
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate closely with internal and external partners on various business topics, driving engineering initiatives
- Demonstrated experience in recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management
- Deep knowledge of Distributed Systems, Performance, Scalability, and Observability
- Drive roadmap creation and execution, while measuring the team's impact and setting clear expectations and goals
- Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team, with a high level of accountability across functions
Preferred Requirements
- Degree in software engineering or computer science
- Previous startup experience
- Strong passion for blockchain, DeFi, and the future of Web3. Understanding our work and its significance is crucial for success in this role.
All positions at Chainlink Labs are remote and global. We encourage some overlapping working hours with Eastern Standard Time (EST), unless otherwise stated.
