Role Overview

The Alchemy Wallet Services team is focused on enabling developers to create secure, simplified, and self-sovereign user experiences for mainstream adoption of blockchain technology. As an engineering manager within this team, your responsibilities include supporting engineering teams technically and culturally as the company continues to grow.

You will lead teams working on core open-source protocol infrastructure and Alchemy's managed services, catering to some of the industry's largest teams. The role involves both internal product development at Alchemy and contributing to the broader EVM ecosystem. This includes shaping internal product roadmaps as well as engaging with the ecosystem through open-source contributions, standards development, and forming strategic partnerships.

Some recent team activities include blog posts and open-source releases such as "Account Abstraction" and projects like Rundler and Modular Account. A significant portion of the team's work involves open-source contributions, which can be explored further publically.

  • Oversee technical and product strategies to deliver outstanding products and services.
  • Stay informed about technological advancements to contribute to enabling more users on-chain.
  • Mentor the team, refine processes, and ensure high-quality standards.
  • Recruit and hire top engineering talent.
  • Influence Alchemy's engineering culture through leadership, mentorship, and fostering continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of software development experience, with a focus on distributed systems.
  • 3+ years of engineering management experience, particularly with critical production infrastructure at high-growth startups.
  • Expertise in engineering large scale distributed systems.
  • Experience in EVM development or team leadership is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Rust, C++, or other lower-level systems programming is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Genuine interest in creating innovative solutions for blockchain users.
  • Previous founding team experience is advantageous.
