Exchange Operations Automation Engineer (US)
We are in search of an Automation Engineer to join our Exchange Operations (ExOps) team and take charge of the technical infrastructure supporting our prediction market lifecycle. In this role, you will focus on automating manual workflows, designing efficient solutions, and delivering tools to enhance the speed, accuracy, and resilience of our operations.
The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of prediction market mechanics and have the ability to identify areas for automation based on operational insights. Working closely with the ExOps team, you will transform operational challenges into robust pipelines and tools.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain automated pipelines for various market processes using Python and Airflow.
- Integrate external data feeds (e.g., sports data, government APIs, political sources) to streamline settlement workflows.
- Establish and manage REST API connections with internal systems and third-party data providers.
- Create AI-supported tools for verifying outcomes, detecting edge cases, and drafting settlement rules.
- Monitor pipeline health, manage scheduled tasks, and address production failures promptly.
- Ensure observability through logging, alerting, and audit trails to meet regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with team members to identify manual processes and automate them systematically.
- Contribute to internal tooling documentation and participate in code review activities.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in technical operations, data engineering, or backend engineering.
- Proficiency in Python for data processing, script automation, and API interactions.
- Experience in building and maintaining REST API integrations.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
- Understanding of sports data feeds or event-driven data pipelines.
- Competence in Linux environments including shell scripting and cron job management.
- Solid knowledge of prediction market mechanics or derivatives products.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with live production requirements.
Preferred Background
- Prior experience in sportsbook platforms, DFS, sports data companies, or CFTC-regulated exchanges.
- Hands-on experience with AI tool development, LLM API integration, or AI-driven decision workflows.
- Knowledge of sports data providers such as Sportradar or Genius Sports.
- Familiarity with CFTC regulatory requirements or market surveillance practices.
- Exposure to FIX protocol or financial exchange systems.
- Background in political forecasting data, macroeconomic data sources, or event-driven settlement systems.
Schedule & Logistics
This position involves supporting live global events and may require occasional rotational coverage including evenings, weekends, or holidays, with weekdays off. The role is remote.
