The role of the Global Customs and Logistics Manager entails the overseeing of international customs compliance, trade regulations, and logistics activities across diverse global regions. The primary goal is to ensure the efficient movement of goods while adhering to international trade laws and regulations diligently.
Responsibilities Include:
- Crafting and executing global customs and logistics strategies in alignment with company objectives.
- Managing relationships with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and logistics partners worldwide.
- Supervising import/export documentation, licenses, and customs declarations.
- Ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and customs requisites.
- Streamlining shipping routes and logistics costs throughout global supply chains.
- Leading and nurturing a team of customs and logistics specialists.
- Monitoring and enhancing logistics KPIs.
- Managing customs audits and coordinating responses to regulatory inquiries.
- Developing and upholding SOPs for global customs and logistics operations.
- Negotiating and handling contracts with logistics service providers.
- Keeping abreast of alterations in international trade regulations and assessing their operational implications. Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in global customs and logistics management.
- Profound familiarity with international trade regulations and customs procedures.
- Proficiency in customs compliance software and logistics management systems.
- Sound knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping documentation.
- Stellar project management and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities and aptitude for team management.
- Fluent in English; additional languages considered a valuable asset.
