Description
We are seeking a dynamic Guerrilla Marketing Manager to spearhead brand activations in key sports markets nationwide. The ideal candidate is deeply immersed in sports culture, skilled at creating buzz in physical spaces, and proficient in translating innovative concepts into compelling fan experiences. This position is hands-on and involves executing surprise activations outside stadiums, orchestrating brand moments in community sports hubs, and collaborating with agency partners and local teams to ensure our brand stands out.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement grassroots marketing campaigns to foster engagement and resonance within core sports communities.
- Manage all on-the-ground operations, encompassing mobile brand experiences, street teams, pop-up courts, game-day stunts, and community events.
- Identify and oversee agency partners, brand ambassadors, and regional vendors to expand activations in key sports markets.
- Take charge of end-to-end logistics, including securing permits, scouting locations, recruiting/training street teams, and executing events smoothly.
- Collaborate across departments such as brand, partnerships, and content to ensure cohesive messaging and storytelling across all channels.
- Engage with sports properties, leagues, and community organizations to amplify activations and enhance participation.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on campaign performance using well-defined KPIs linked to brand engagement and fan base growth.
- Stay abreast of sports trends, athlete culture, and fan behavior, particularly in urban and emerging sports environments.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years experience in marketing, with at least 3 years specializing in sports marketing, guerrilla tactics, or experiential activations.
- Profound understanding of sports culture and fan communities, ranging from grassroots to professional levels.
- Demonstrated capability in managing agency partnerships and external teams effectively.
- Strong project management and operational acumen, enabling the oversight of multiple events, locations, and timelines seamlessly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships with various stakeholders including street teams and city authorities.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and game days.
- Bonus points for bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) and experience in soccer, basketball, or youth sports marketing.
