Role

As the Head of Compliance Operations, you will operate at the helm of ensuring the execution of effective compliance strategies, streamlining operational workflows, and upholding the highest ethical standards while mitigating risks within the rapidly evolving regulatory environment of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Formulate and supervise the implementation of global compliance processes to ensure complete adherence to AML/CTF, KYC, and consumer protection standards, in alignment with industry benchmarks.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the efficiency of compliance operations, including alert frequencies, false positive rates, and investigation durations, utilizing robust data analysis for informed decision-making.
• Develop and present insightful dashboards and reports to senior management, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Forge and expand operational mechanisms to enhance productivity, elevate quality standards, and contribute to top-tier compliance operations.
• Handle the implementation and optimization of sanctions screening tools to ensure compliance with OFAC, UN, EU, and other global sanctions programs.
• Device, implement, and oversee risk-based criteria to enable effective monitoring across diverse geographies and product offerings.
• Manage vendor associations supporting operational processes encompassing transaction monitoring, screening, trade surveillance, and blockchain analytics.
• Leverage technology to automate workflows, introduce operational efficiencies, and boost operational scalability to align with business growth.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Compliance Officer, delivering presentations on AML and Compliance program status and critical matters to leadership, steering strategic decision-making.
• Establish and lead a team of compliance professionals specializing in transaction monitoring, screening, and operational compliance on a global scale.
• Provide training, mentorship, and avenues for career advancement to team members.
• Cultivate a culture of compliance consciousness, operational efficacy, and collaboration.
• Serve as a principal point of contact with regulators, auditors, and external consultants concerning transaction monitoring and sanctions compliance.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of five years of pertinent AML experience.
• Proficient in the laws, regulations, and guidance governing customer due diligence and associated processes across various jurisdictions.
• Proficiency in enhancing onboarding processes.
• Outstanding communication abilities to engage with regulators, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams.
• Aptitude in balancing regulatory compliance with business progression and innovation.

Pay Transparency Notice: Total remuneration package at Blockchain.com encompasses various components, with the applicable salary range typically spanning from $120,000 to $170,000 annually for this role in the United States. The final compensation will be reliant on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location, in addition to internal equity and market data evaluations.
