Job Summary:
Blockchain.com invites talented legal professionals to join their rapidly growing team in the role of Head of Regulatory (US). This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge regulatory challenges in the crypto space, contribute to defining new crypto licensing structures, collaborate closely with the Policy Team on crafting crypto policies, and play a pivotal role in shaping the regulatory landscape in the US.
The Head of Regulatory (US) will carry high-level responsibilities related to regulatory matters concerning both institutional and consumer business lines in the US. This role involves providing legal and regulatory support across various areas such as entity licensing, product distribution, service provider relationships, and more, catering to both consumer and institutional clienteles. Ideal candidates will thrive in fast-paced environments and have the chance to pioneer as a foundational member of the Legal Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer legal and regulatory counsel to Blockchain.com's US operations, considering global implications.
- Assess and advise on legal and regulatory matters affecting entity licensing, product development, and distribution.
- Support the organization in licensing and registration initiatives, including potential BitLicense applications.
- Collaborate with Compliance on regulatory licensing issues and engage with local regulators as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the US region while coordinating with teams in the UK, Europe, and Latin America.
- Manage or support in regulatory inquiries and investigations upon request.
- Effectively liaise across business units to address complex business and risk issues.
- Engage external legal resources when needed.
Requirements:
- LLB/JD and bar admission in a US jurisdiction.
- 8-10+ years of relevant regulatory experience, with in-house FinTech experience being advantageous.
- Demonstrated high-performance track record in an in-house legal capacity.
- Ability to work diligently and provide practical advice to clients under pressure and minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and strategic capabilities to resolve issues considering various non-legal factors.
- Strong integrity and adherence to professional ethics.
- Proactive in identifying and mitigating legal risks.

US Pay Transparency Notice: The base pay range for this position is between $150,000 and $210,000 per year. Final compensation is influenced by skills, experience, and market data.
