Responsibilities
- Risk Leadership & Strategy 
- Develop and maintain the enterprise risk management strategy, risk appetite, and tolerance thresholds. 
- Provide guidance to the Board and CEO on all risk-related matters. 
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to adapt strategies accordingly. 
- Governance & Framework Development 
- Establish a risk governance framework covering various risks such as market, credit, liquidity, operational, and cybersecurity risks. 
- Lead the Risk Committee and ensure regular risk reviews. 
- Risk Assessment & Monitoring 
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments related to market volatility, counterparty exposure, and regulatory compliance. 
- Create and maintain effective risk measurement tools and indicators. 
- Evaluate crypto assets and investment strategies for potential risks and vulnerabilities. 
- Cross-functional Collaboration 
- Collaborate with different business units to enhance risk controls and support new product development. 
- Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Operations teams to integrate risk controls into workflows. 
- Regulatory & External Engagement 
- Develop strong relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and auditors to ensure compliance. 
- Serve as the main contact for regulators and ensure timely submission of risk reports. 
- Represent Flipster in industry risk forums and engage with external auditors and consultants. 
- Incident Response & Legal Risk Management 
- Lead incident response and crisis management efforts. 
- Collaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans. 
- Engage with insurance partners to ensure appropriate coverage in the event of cyber incidents. 
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, PRM, CAMS, CISA, CRISC) are preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive risk management experience in regulated financial services.
- Digital asset or crypto platform experience for at least 3 years.
- Familiarity with Blockchain and cryptocurrency risks.
- Strong knowledge of risk frameworks, policies, and quantitative risk metrics.
- Understanding of global crypto regulatory frameworks.
- Analytical, communication, and leadership skills essential.
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and geographies.
