The Role: HR Generalist
We are seeking a dynamic HR Generalist to join Story Protocol as the inaugural HR hire. In this pioneering position, you will be accountable for formulating and executing HR policies, managing employee relations, and spearheading various people-oriented initiatives critical to sustaining a productive work environment. You will collaborate with team members and managers on crucial aspects such as team engagement, benefits administration, talent retention, onboarding, and compliance with industry regulations. Additionally, you will take charge of HRIS management, employee record maintenance, and serving as the primary HR contact to address staff queries and issues amidst our fluid organizational environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement HR policies aligning with the unique needs of the blockchain industry, fostering a corporate culture.
- Work closely with team members and management to address pivotal people-centric matters (performance evaluation, team dynamics, benefits administration, HRIS oversight, etc.).
- Act as the key contact for onboarding new employees and contractors.
- Manage employee relations by mediating conflict and cultivating a positive workplace atmosphere.
- Ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and labor laws, and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Contribute to creating operational guidelines for a dynamic organization evolving at a rapid pace.
- Appropriately handle and address HR-related queries and concerns from staff.
- Spearhead the performance appraisal process to ensure timely and effective evaluations.
Requirements for Ideal Candidate
- At least 3 years of experience as an HR Business Partner or Generalist, preferably within a startup or web3/blockchain environment.
- Self-motivated and adept at navigating ambiguous situations proactively and independently.
- Strong attention to detail, enabling the identification and rectification of organizational gaps.
- Adaptable to change and eager to innovate processes in a fast-paced, reactive setting.
- Proficient in HR software and tools, with prior experience in managing reviews and employee relations in a tech or blockchain context.
- Demonstrated expertise in influencing, communication, and relationship-building.
- Understanding of labor laws and compliance standards specific to the blockchain sector.
