JTX is Jito Labs' consumer trading product, a high-performance trading terminal built on Solana. They play a significant role in Solana's block production, bringing this advantage directly to traders.

The Role:

We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to take charge of and expand the infrastructure that supports JTX, offering a top-tier trading experience on Solana. This role requires autonomy and a high level of ownership for someone adept at managing critical systems in fast-paced environments.

The foundational architecture is established, and now we need someone to fortify, automate, secure, and ensure its reliability while traders actively engage with the platform. You will be responsible for globally distributed infrastructure that upholds a 0-to-1 trading product where performance, latency, and trust are critical factors.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering leadership, enjoying minimal process constraints and a high level of accountability. Your responsibilities will include taking charge when issues arise, enhancing automation where possible, and addressing risks or inefficiencies proactively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end infrastructure for JTX encompassing backend services, frontend systems, databases, and observability tools in cloud environments
• Develop and maintain dependable deployment processes, including CI/CD pipelines, preflight validations, and post-release monitoring
• Architect reproducible infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and industry best practices for infrastructure-as-code
• Enhance system-wide observability through metrics, logging, alerting, and monitoring to ensure uptime, accuracy, and low latency
• Establish robust operational practices with clear alerting mechanisms, incident response procedures, and detailed runbooks
• Secure cloud and edge infrastructure, implementing measures like routing, CDN deployment, WAF, DDoS protection, VPN mesh networking, and access controls
• Oversee the infrastructure security posture, encompassing secrets management, OS hardening, firewall policies, key rotation, and incident response preparedness
• Support globally distributed SQL infrastructure and performance-oriented Rust/Axum API systems
• Develop internal tools and automation to boost developer efficiency and operational efficacy
• Set and elevate the standards for infrastructure reliability, scalability, and security organization-wide

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, SRE, or DevOps for highly available, low-latency systems
• Proficiency in Linux and system fundamentals, operating both bare-metal and cloud infrastructures
• Extensive practice with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools, specifically Terraform and Ansible in production settings
• Deep knowledge of networking and web infrastructure components such as load balancing, CDN caching, DNS routing, TLS, and secure traffic management
• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms like Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, InfluxDB, or similar tools
• Strong operational acumen across infrastructure, databases, applications, and external APIs
• Solid background in security practices, including secrets management systems like Vault or equivalent technologies
• Good understanding of database operations, including replication, pooling, connection behavior, and performance considerations
• Excellent written communication skills for creating precise documentation, operational guides, and repeatable processes
• A high ownership mentality to operate independently in a dynamic and agile environment

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with Solana infrastructure and tools, including validators, RPCs, blockchain data services, transaction landing, and wallet custody systems
• Strong grasp of low-latency trading or consumer-facing fintech infrastructures
• Experience working with Rust, cloud-hosted PostgreSQL databases, and secrets management systems for safeguarding sensitive credentials

Salary Range: $250,000 - $275,000 per year
