Your responsibilities will include:

Working with the Security and Technology Risk Management unit, you will oversee the day-to-day functions of Circle's Technology Risk Management aspect, collaborating closely with technology segments to identify, assess, prioritize, mitigate, and report on technology risks. The goal is to enhance Circle’s resilience by anticipating and preparing for internal and external variables or risks disrupting the company's objectives. This involves policy management, issue tracking, change management, risk evaluation, resiliency, technology platforms, third-party supervision, and collaborating with business associates.

Key tasks you'll undertake:

  • Team up with primary Technology teams and Chief Technology Officer to advance and manage Enterprise Risk Management programs encompassing issue tracking, policy control, change oversight, risk appraisal, third-party risk management, and training.
  • Ensure active challenge and oversight related to technology governance, risk identification, mitigation planning, and drive technology strategy alignment and implementation.
  • Collaborate with Technology primary teams to assess company-wide technology risks and endorse necessary risk controls.
  • Utilize expertise in systems, data architecture, software development, IT operations, and technical controls to anticipate business technology risks.
  • Lead assessments, surveillance, and reporting for technology risks across business activities such as engineering, security, and cyber domains.
  • Employ influential measures to harmonize risk mitigation and strategies for disparate global or regional stakeholder groups.
  • Support continuous risk management through active engagement across departments by participating as a critical business partner early on in risk discussions to facilitate risk identification, attenuation, and acceptance.
  • Provide advisory services to enable the technology segment in computing current risk exposure, proposing risk mitigation approaches, and alignment with corporate risk thresholds and statements.
  • Deliver expertise on Technology and Security Frameworks, promoting risk-related awareness, training, guidance to employees, and relevant third parties ensuring well-informed risk methodologies are adhered to.
  • Implement periodic reviews, executive-level reporting, recommending updates to policies, processes, and tools to adapt to the dynamic business backdrop.
  • Collaborate with the ERM team on Technology risks and cultivate comprehension on relations with Security, Legal, Privacy, and operational risks at Circle.
  • Aid the Security and Technology Specialized Risk Committee by providing risk insight to the Technology Risk program's overall strength and furnish regular outcomes from risk-based evaluations/testing protocols.

Expected qualities you embody:

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in managing technology risk (with Security knowledge a bonus) in financial services, payment or tech firms demonstrating competency in Enterprise Risk Management frameworks and models.
  • Familiarity with quantitative risk frameworks like FAIR and realms of blockchain and digital payments.
  • Proven ability in instilling a risk-focused culture within dynamic business environments, especially in tech or financial services sectors.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Google Suite, Slack, and Apple MacOS preferred.
  • Preferably a bachelor's degree in Technology, Risk Management, or Business, additionally, Technology or Security Certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISM) would be beneficial.

Extra details:

  • Eligibility for PERM sponsorship from the commencement date for adequately qualified candidates.
  • Circle values encompass several components when structuring compensation ranges and packages. Factors such as experience, skill set, qualifications, as well as business and organizational needs, influence initial payments. Different locations may have varying compensation ranges.
  • Base Pay Range: $130,000 - $170,000.
  • Annual Bonus Target: 15%.
  • Additional perks include Equity & Benefits (medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)), discretionary vacation policy, 10 days of paid sick leave per annum, and 11 paid holidays annually in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the regional implementation of CleanSpark’s security strategy in Wyoming.
