As a leader in Machine Learning Engineering, the primary responsibility entails supervising and guiding the success of the SDP team. This includes overseeing the ML Pipeline and ensuring efficient ML Models through the utilization of machine learning for automating tasks like data sourcing, annotating, and curating within the film media sector. The role involves coaching, mentoring, and validating the work quality of team members, collaborating closely with various internal teams in both US and UK offices.
The position specifically requires expertise in data labeling, deep learning system development, and network optimization techniques, such as quantization, model parallelization, and distillation. The successful applicant must comprehend data requirements and ensure the delivery of high-quality datasets to support advanced AI model development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of deep learning engineers in managing data curation, labeling, annotation, and deployment
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members to enhance performance and productivity
- Oversee the development of large deep learning systems and optimize deep learning networks for effective SDP operations
- Collaborate with Applied Science Leadership, VFX, product, and engineering teams to ensure successful ML systems deployment
- Monitor dataset quality and identify biases within the SDP team's output
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or Computer Vision
- 6+ years of experience in deep learning network optimization
- Proficiency in Python/Pytorch or TensorFlow
- Experience managing engineering teams for 3-5 years
- Expertise in building scalable ML pipelines for image and video modalities
- Familiarity with cloud data storage technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or Computer Vision
- Extensive experience in leading and expanding deep learning engineering teams
- Background in Generative AI and Computer Vision projects
- Previous exposure to the entertainment, film, or VFX industry
