To this end, we are seeking a seasoned expert in SOX & Internal Controls to join our esteemed Accounting Policy, Processes, and Controls team.
In this pivotal role within the team, you are tasked with conceiving, executing, and upholding a state-of-the-art internal controls framework, under the purview of the Accounting Policy, Processes, and Controls Lead. Your domain as an expert revolves around Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR), positioning you as the torchbearer for matters concerning internal controls within the company.
This role proffers a unique opportunity for a proactive self-starter to revamp our existing framework and steer the strategic direction. Success in this domain hinges upon the creation of scalable and audit-ready processes that cater to the stringent demands of a rapidly expanding global enterprise. Your responsibility also entails adeptly navigating the labyrinth of SEC/PCAOB standards, intricate financial regulations, and cutting-edge blockchain technology.

Technical Skills:
- Overarching expertise in ICFR, U.S. GAAP, the COSO framework, SEC regulations, and PCAOB standards.
- Skillful evaluation of IT General Controls (ITGCs) and automated application controls to crystallize Anchorage's objectives and refine internal control systems.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Leverage independent judgment to drive innovative strides, overseeing significant ventures such as IPO Readiness and SOX 404 execution.
- Embellish the strategy and enactment of our internal control framework by disentangling intricate regulatory mandates into manageable initiatives ensuring compliance by design.
- Spearhead the consolidated deficiency framework and bear accountability for outcomes shaping the entire financial reporting sphere and IPO transition's success.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Exude deep-seated insights instrumental in shaping the strategic bend of our global internal controls framework.
- Actively collaborate with various factions (Legal, IT, Operations, Risk) to fashion and incorporate control programs aligning with Anchorage's international expansion and compliance contours.
Communication and Influence:
- Convey intricate financial and regulatory issues cogently to diverse audiences.
- Customize communication tactics to foster meaningful dialogues with senior cohorts and auditors, forge consensus, and propel cross-functional accountability for a rigorous control ambiance.
- Collude with Legal and Financial Reporting entities to set up and operationalize a Disclosure Committee.
The ideal candidate for this role embodies:
- A robust background spanning over 10 years in progressive accounting or audit functions, with a firm grounding of 6–8 years in dedicated SOX program oversight.
- Possession of an active CPA certification.
- Profound comprehension of U.S. GAAP, COSO framework, SEC rules, and PCAOB standards, coupled with astuteness in evaluating ITGCs, automated application controls, and system deployments.
- A resolute “Kaizen” attitude mirroring intrinsic motivation, rigorous project management skills, and a propensity for diving deep to fortify business operations.
- Capability to thrive as a nimble executor in a burgeoning, independent landscape fostering deft communication with senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams.
- Exposure to a rapid-growth fintech or crypto setup.
Bonus points for:
- Hands-on experience in Big 4 public accounting environments.
- Direct involvement in navigating a private-to-public IPO transition.
- Proficiency with Optro (commonly known as AuditBoard) or akin internal control program management tools.
- An emotive connection with the soundtrack of “Hamilton” detailing the emergence of a groundbreaking financial architecture.
