As a valued member of the Trading Operations team, you will be instrumental in assisting our clients with their everyday activities. Your primary responsibilities will involve supporting the post-trade lifecycle of various digital asset instruments, guaranteeing prompt settlements, reconciliation, and implementing robust risk mitigation strategies. This role demands a profound understanding of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, financial operations, and risk management. The perfect candidate will exhibit strong technical competencies, adeptness in handling complex tasks, organizational awareness, and effective communication and influencing skills. You should have a comprehensive grasp of settlement operations, as well as the regulatory and operational aspects pertaining to each stage of the process. By supporting client interactions across multiple teams and collaborating closely with client operations, you will ensure the continual development and enhancement of processes and procedures.

Technical Skills:
- Apply in-depth knowledge of traditional financial services, products, and strategies to provide strategic support for clients and assist in strategy implementation.
- Efficiently manage Counterparty and Client settlement requests within agreed timelines and monitor progress to meet established KPIs.
- Support daily spot, lending, and derivatives operations, ensuring precise completion of processing and maintenance functions as per prescribed procedures.
- Employ blockchain explorers, trading platforms, and other relevant tools to oversee the activity of diverse digital assets across internal ledgers and external systems.
- Perform cash positioning and inventory management for product flows to optimize treasury management, mitigate risks, and streamline client settlements.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to streamline trading, settlement, and risk operations workflows.
- Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to promptly provide accurate trade and settlement data and assist in resolving any breakages.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Possess insights into the crypto industry’s ecosystem, tokens, protocols, and verticals in which they operate (staking, governance, etc.).
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Adapt swiftly to evolving business strategies and incorporate new products and tasks as they emerge.
- Manage reconciling and settling transactions involving a variety of digital assets, including cryptocurrencies, and fiat currencies.
- Prioritize tasks, handle time-sensitive assignments, and meet deadlines to ensure efficient and timely settlements.
- Develop internal presentations, reports, and lead projects to elevate internal processes or contribute to new tasks.
- Demonstrate a prolific output as an individual contributor, capable of self-sufficiently delivering results on core tasks daily.
- Supervise and oversee all outstanding settlements and accurately triage competing tasks with precision.
- Evaluate risks to the organization and clients thoughtfully, addressing complex queries.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Stay informed about evolving cryptocurrency industry trends, regulatory guidelines, and best practices in settlements and custodial services.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of various cryptocurrencies, their underlying technologies, and operational processes in custodianship.
- Foster knowledge sharing within the team to prevent creating single points of failure.
- Understand the responsibilities and interests of cross-functional teams and nurture collaborative relationships to meet common objectives.
Communication and Influence:
- Coach team members as needed and identify any shortcomings in current processes.
- Demonstrate "executive presence" when interfacing with financial investors and C-level executives.
- Contribute actively to team discussions to boost processes and productivity, effectively conveying information and insights while collaborating with other teams.
- Cultivate relationships with key partners to support the Compliance and Product departments, as well as external counterparties.
- Collaborate efficiently with internal stakeholders, such as traders, operations teams, compliance officers, and executives, to address settlement-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting settlement activities for institutional clients in traditional asset classes and crypto assets.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, agility in identifying emergent risks, brainstorming solutions, and adapting to changing goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python and SQL is advantageous.
- Familiarity with and understanding of crypto-native institutions is a plus.
- A passion for shaping early-stage startups is beneficial.
- Previously enthralled by the soundtrack to Hamilton, indicative of envisioning new financial systems.
