As a Member of Technical Staff within the Infra Engineering team, your role involves contributing to various aspects of the platform focusing on cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP, GKE, Terraform) and constructing systems for our monorepo. You will play a vital part in defining long-term strategies and collaborating with a skilled team of engineers to implement them successfully. Ensuring a smooth build pipeline for internal developers and maintaining a reliable, secure runtime infrastructure are key components of your responsibilities contributing to Anchorage's core ecosystem and value proposition. Responsibilities:
Technical Skills:
Lead significant infrastructure initiatives like developing abstractions for Kubernetes and Istio.
Administer reliable and cost-effective cloud infrastructure.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
Lead the effort to transition from monolithic to microservices architecture including decomposing Terraform and Kubernetes configurations.
Develop or adopt deployment tools to automate deployment processes.
Enhance the build system to reduce developer feedback cycles.
Establish robust local and remote test infrastructure to improve developer productivity.
Organizational Knowledge:
Nurture a culture of collaboration.
Ensuring timely project delivery.
Communication and Influence:
Work collaboratively with external partners and internal engineering and security teams to provide secure cloud infrastructure solutions.
Advocate best practices related to cloud infrastructure, developer experience, and observability.
Job Qualifications:
- Proficient in programming with a passion for Linux and automation.
- Experience with major cloud providers like GCP and/or AWS and technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
- Familiarity with Build toolchains such as Bazel and Gradle.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Desired Qualifications:
- Exposure to ChromeOS is a plus.
- Understanding of cryptography over cryptocurrency.
- Keen interest in blockchain protocol research and innovations in crypto assets.
- Background in the finance industry is a bonus.
Technical Stack:
- Backend Tech: Go, C, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Vault, GCP, C++, GraphQL.
- Engineering Methodologies: Reverse uptime, cryptographic data linking, tamper-resistant ledgers, air-gapped infrastructure, secure execution environments, container orchestration, repeatable builds, infra-as-code.
