Member of Technical Staff, Wealth (Technical Lead)

In this role within the Wealth & Assets Management team, you will collaborate with the Engineering Manager, Product Manager, and the engineering team to develop, release, and maintain high-quality software. You will play a key role in defining the system architecture and technical direction of the team, focusing on designing APIs and automation for client services across various business functions including financial advisory support, asset custody, and trading systems. Your contributions will directly impact the development of custody, protocols, core infrastructure, and transparency systems that drive our institutional digital asset custody platform.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Skills:
- Drive the breakdown, estimation, design, implementation, and maintenance of Wealth systems.
- Develop, test, and document code following Anchorage’s engineering standards.
- Overcome complex challenges with creative solutions and streamline existing systems through safe refactoring.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure consistency and facilitate knowledge sharing across the team.
Complexity and Impact of Work:
- Lead large, strategic projects and contribute to the technical strategy of the team.
- Strike a balance between progress and perfection, promoting a culture of efficient testing.
- Minimize technical debt within the team's initiatives.
Organizational Knowledge:
- Share knowledge effectively within the team to avoid creating single points of failure.
- Collaborate across departments and teams to achieve common goals.
Communication and Influence:
- Mentor team members within specialized areas and align their work with strategic objectives.
- Engage with diverse stakeholders and influence product and architectural roadmaps.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in backend services development.
- Proven expertise in building complex distributed systems; experience with Go is preferred but not required.
- Track record of leading large-scale projects at an architectural level.
- Strong focus on creating robust services and enhancing end-user experiences.
- Commitment to code quality, testing practices, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals, such as concurrency, algorithms, and data structures.
- Prior experience in mentorship and team collaboration.
Bonus Qualifications (optional):
- Familiarity with GraphQL and gRPC API design and implementation.
- Background in finance industry, particularly in Wealth management.
