About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to take ownership of and drive high-level design and architecture on our distributed platform. As a Principal Engineer, you will work closely with our product leaders and leadership team to understand long-term product needs, develop platform services, make framework decisions, and influence the entire Chainlink stack to bring about impactful change in the blockchain industry.
Your Impact
- Develop the next-generation platform to extend our node's capabilities in delivering external data and on-chain services, enabling distributed computation for a wide range of smart contract applications.
- Architect and design components and service layers that can sustainably scale as we support an increasing number of blockchain integrations.
- Collaborate with leadership to consider all product aspects and define our high-level technical roadmap to facilitate scaling across multiple dimensions, including blockchain integrations, application diversity, payment flexibility, and engineering operations.
- Collaborate with engineers, technical leaders, and product managers from different teams to reach consensus on technical decisions, concepts, and guidelines.
- Actively contribute to raising the team's engineering standards, increasing team velocity, and improving product reliability and security through coaching and utilization of frameworks.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional engineering experience in a collaborative, product-driven environment.
- Successful experience in designing, building, and scaling multiple production services, components, and infrastructure.
- Proven experience in collaborating with a team to support production services over the course of multiple years, adapting to user demand and challenges.
- Deep knowledge of programming languages, tools, and frameworks required for building and deploying production services, including experience in selecting these technologies.
- Experience in owning and managing multiple long-term projects, effectively communicating progress, dependencies, and risk mitigation with stakeholders and partners.
