Product Director, Core Banking and Payments

This pivotal role encompasses product leadership within Crypto.com's international trading platform. As the Product Director for Core Banking & Payments, you will be responsible for the holistic product strategy governing fiat deposits and withdrawals — the groundwork allowing Retail, Private, and Institutional clients to seamlessly transact on the platform worldwide, instantly and securely.

Your mandate will involve determining our development focus, selecting relevant payment gateways, establishing banking affiliations, and optimizing transaction flow efficiency. Directly accountable for Total Funds Flow, transaction acceptance rates, settlement speed, and per-transaction costs across all operational markets, you will be reporting to the VP of Product, Banking.

Responsibilities:

• Global Banking Network: Enhance and streamline cross-border payment infrastructures globally to ensure uninterrupted access to fiat in all geographical markets.

• Speed & Latency: Cherry-pick and incorporate payment gateways based on real-time transaction requirements to facilitate immediate trading activities.

• Liquidity & Settlement: Forge sustainable banking relationships to ensure continuous liquidity for mass user payouts and swift trading settlements.

• Acceptance Rate Optimization: Enhance pay-in acceptance rates by refining relationships with processors, fraud detection mechanisms, and adherence to compliance standards.

• Strategic Bank Partnerships: Spearhead negotiations and technological integrations for direct bank partnerships, securing favorable terms, exclusive service offerings, and tailor-made solutions for trading enterprises.

• Payment Orchestration & Routing: Develop and oversee the operational flow of a flexible routing engine that selects the most optimal payment gateway in real-time based on user segment, jurisdiction, currency, processing speed, and risk assessment.

• Institutional On-Ramp: Construct compliant and scalable fiat payment solutions for institutional clients, entailing segregated bank accounts, high-value wire processing, and bulk API payments.

Requirements:

Experience:

• 7–10+ years of proven product leadership, with over 7 years devoted to payment infrastructure or core banking products.
• Demonstrated expertise in establishing and expanding cross-border payment structures within high-volume, real-time settings.
• Prior involvement in direct bank collaborations (not just white-label PSPs) and negotiation of commercial partnerships.
• Track record of supervising payment orchestration and dynamic routing functions in operational scenarios.
• Extensive experience in creating fiat solutions for institutional clients involving segregated accounts, wire transfers, and bulk transaction APIs.
• Background in, or substantial exposure to, financial trading, digital currency exchange, or fintech realms.

Skills:

• In-depth technical proficiency encompassing intricate API solutions, data pathways, and payment protocol integrations.
• Practical experience working with core banking systems and/or payment protocol associations (SWIFT, SEPA, FPS, ACH, etc.).
• Proficiency in collaborating with bank partners, payment service providers, and transaction processors.
• Strong team management capabilities with a consistent focus on professional development.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills specifically relating to engineering, legal, compliance, finance, and senior management.
