Product Director, Core Banking and Payments

About the Role

This position is crucial in leading product strategy within Crypto.com's global trading engine. As the Product Director for Core Banking & Payments, you will be responsible for overseeing the product strategy concerning fiat pay-in and pay-out capabilities. This includes managing the infrastructure facilitating money movement for millions of Retail, Private, and Institutional clients worldwide with a focus on instantaneous, global, and reliable transactions.

The responsibilities for this role involve owning the strategy on where and how to build, selecting the appropriate payment rails and banking partnerships, as well as managing transaction routing. Direct accountability extends to total funds flow, acceptance rates, settlement speed, and transaction costs across all markets. This role reports to the VP of Product, Banking.

Responsibilities

Global Banking Network

• Develop and optimize cross-border payment infrastructure across different markets to ensure comprehensive rail coverage and stable fiat access.

Speed & Latency

• Choose and integrate payment rails based on speed requirements to support real-time trading activities effectively.

Liquidity & Settlement

• Establish banking partnerships to guarantee continuous liquidity for mass user pay-outs and high-frequency trading settlement.

Acceptance Rate Optimization

• Improve pay-in acceptance rates for different channels by optimizing processor relationships and compliance logic.

Strategic Bank Partnerships

• Lead negotiations and integrations for direct bank relationships to secure beneficial rates and tailored solutions for trading businesses.

Payment Orchestration & Routing

• Design a dynamic routing engine for optimal rail selection in real-time based on various factors like user segment, jurisdiction, currency, speed, and risk profile.

Institutional On-Ramp

• Create compliant and scalable fiat payment solutions for institutional clients including segregated bank accounts and bulk pay-out APIs.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years of product leadership experience, with significant focus on payment infrastructure or core banking products.
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling cross-border payment rails in high-volume, real-time environments.
• Experience in direct bank integrations and commercial partnership negotiations.
• Track record in managing payment orchestration and dynamic routing logic.
• Expertise in developing fiat solutions for institutional clients within financial technology environments.
• Strong technical proficiency in API products, data flows, and payment protocol integrations.
• Hands-on experience with core banking platforms and payment scheme integrations.
• Proficiency in integrating with bank partners, payment service providers (PSPs), and acquiring processors.
• Strong people management skills and ability to maintain high standards for the team.
• Excellent stakeholder management across engineering, legal, compliance, finance, and senior leadership teams.
