This pivotal role within a leading global cryptocurrency platform involves overseeing the product strategy for core banking and payments. As the Product Director, you will be responsible for shaping the operational aspects that facilitate the seamless movement of funds for millions of clients worldwide. This includes managing fiat pay-in and pay-out functionalities critical for Retail, Private, and Institutional users.
You will strategize on the choice of infrastructure, bank partnerships, transaction routing, and operational metrics such as Total Funds Flow, acceptance rates, settlement speed, and transaction costs globally. Reporting to the VP of Product, Banking, you will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of the platform.
Responsibilities
Global Banking Network
- Enhance and optimize cross-border payment infrastructure across various markets for improved fiat accessibility.
Speed & Latency
- Identify and integrate payment channels that align with transaction speed requisites, supporting real-time trading execution efficiently.
Liquidity & Settlement
- Forge strategic alliances with banking institutions to ensure continuous access to liquidity, vital for swift pay-outs and frequent trading settlements.
Acceptance Rate Optimization
- Drive enhancements in pay-in approval rates through refining relationships with financial processors and compliance mechanisms.
Strategic Bank Partnerships
- Spearhead negotiations and technical integrations for direct banking collaborations, securing favorable rates and tailored solutions for trading businesses.
Payment Orchestration & Routing
- Devise and oversee a dynamic routing engine that selects the most suitable payment channel in real-time based on user profile, location, currency, speed, and risk factors.
Institutional On-Ramp
- Establish compliant and scalable fiat payment solutions dedicated to institutional clientele, including specialized bank accounts, high-value wire processing, and bulk pay-out APIs.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of leadership experience in product development, with a focus on payment infrastructures or core banking products.
- Proven track record in building and scaling cross-border payment networks within high-volume, time-sensitive environments.
- Experience with direct bank integrations and adept at negotiation on commercial partnership terms.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing payment orchestration and routing mechanisms successfully.
- Prior experience in developing fiat solutions for institutional clients within trading or fintech environments.
- Strong technical proficiency in complex API products, data flows, and payment protocol integrations.
- Hands-on experience with core banking platforms and payment scheme integrations including SWIFT, SEPA, FPS, ACH, etc.
