Description

Offchain Labs has created innovative scaling solutions for Ethereum, such as Arbitrum, an Optimistic Rollup, which accelerates apps, reduces costs, and expands capacity while maintaining Ethereum's security. Migrating contracts to Arbitrum is seamless without the need for code modifications or downloads as it is compatible with existing Ethereum developer tools. Arbitrum currently holds a significant market share and hosts numerous apps with a substantial portion of all rollup liquidity. Additionally, Offchain Labs contributes to the Ethereum core protocol through the Prysm consensus client, an important Go implementation adhering to the Ethereum protocol specifications, aiding in beacon node implementation and validator client functionality.

As a member of the Product team at Offchain Labs, you will collaborate with industry leaders in the blockchain field to tackle complex technical, economic, and social challenges. Your role will involve guiding the roadmap for crucial on-chain processes, addressing aspects like on-chain governance and cross-chain interoperability, ensuring that chains and applications within the ecosystem thrive and function effectively. Working closely with the engineering team, third-party collaborators in the Arbitrum ecosystem, and company executives, you will play an instrumental role in driving product development and success.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement a governance-focused roadmap to enhance flexibility and security in on-chain and off-chain mechanisms for Arbitrum chains.
  • Establish and oversee a modular governance system for adoption by Arbitrum chains, facilitating efficient protocol upgrades across various ownership models.
  • Enhance user-facing products like the Arbitrum Bridge and Portal to provide increased value for users and projects across the Ethereum ecosystem.
  • Identify technical and non-technical requirements to ensure the success of products through comprehensive documentation and ecosystem support.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to prioritize development work based on user feedback, market changes, and technical considerations.
  • Collaborate with marketing and partnerships teams to develop narratives and messaging for product launches and protocol enhancements.
  • Foster alignment across the organization, ensuring coherence among engineering, design, marketing, and partnership functions.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a product management role or a related technical position.
  • Strong engagement with on-chain culture, proficient in using dApps, and actively involved in the Ethereum community.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a knack for influencing and collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Ability to delve into technical aspects while keeping a broader view of business objectives.
  • Team player who excels in ambiguous situations and takes ownership when necessary.
  • Educational background in Computer Science or Engineering, or relevant practical experience in software product development.
  • Proven track record of delivering production-grade software, particularly for developers, and familiarity with software development processes.
  • Prior experience at a growing tech company or software startup is advantageous, as is working within a blockchain protocol team or on distributed systems.
