Product Manager, Risk

Role Overview

As a Product Manager within the Risk team at Binance, you will be responsible for driving the strategy, roadmap, and implementation of risk-focused products to protect users and mitigate various risks across financial, operational, and compliance aspects. Collaborating closely with engineering, data science, security, compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and business teams, you will design scalable solutions driven by data to maintain security at Binance while ensuring a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Strategy & Vision: Shape the product vision and roadmap for risk identification, fraud prevention, enhancements in Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) processes, transaction monitoring, and systems for real-time risk evaluation, while staying vigilant about emerging risks within crypto trading and related domains.
• Execution & Delivery: Partner with cross-functional teams in engineering, data, and operations to deliver impactful risk controls and infrastructures. Utilize data analytics to identify gaps, formulate automated detection mechanisms, and establish critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like false positive rates and detection speed. Prioritize features based on risk criticality, user impact, Return on Investment (ROI), and operational feedback, managing the end-to-end product lifecycle.
• Technical & Risk Proficiency: Possess expertise in anomaly detection algorithms, risk scoring models, pattern recognition, identity verification mechanisms, blockchain analytics, and anti-fraud systems. Collaborate with data scientists on developing and refining machine learning models to address risks effectively.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage with Compliance, AML, Legal, Security, Customer Support, and Operations teams to ensure alignment of risk solutions with global standards. Articulate product decisions clearly across diverse teams, including senior management.

Requirements:

• 3–7+ years of Product Management experience in domains such as Risk, Fraud, AML, Trust & Safety, Security, Fintech, payments, or crypto trading platforms.
• Strong technical acumen enabling collaboration with engineering and data teams on system design and rational.
• Demonstrated capacity to resolve complex and consequential risk challenges through data-driven approaches.
• Previous involvement in designing risk assessment tools, case management systems, or fraud detection solutions is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey intricate risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
