RTI Researcher (US Timezone)

Our client is currently looking for researchers to join the real-time information flows team. They are focusing on discovering untapped opportunities in the cryptocurrency markets that react to market-moving news in real time.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with traders and researchers to pinpoint potential trading chances driven by news.
• Keep core themes updated by effectively sharing pertinent information.
• Maintain a comprehensive calendar of significant events.
• Identify primary sources of breaking news across all monitored themes.
• Collaborate with developers to enhance the integration of key sources of news.
• Monitor content streams in real time and notify traders and researchers of potential trading opportunities.
• Develop automated alerts with high precision and recall for selected themes. Modify, enable/disable, and update alerts based on evolving market conditions.
• Continuously review alerts to ensure their relevance, robustness, and reliability.
• Lead the product development of the real-time event monitoring and alerting system.
• Conduct QA/UAT to test all alert releases and products to ensure they meet the high quality standards of the firm.

Requirements

Experience & Knowledge:

• Previous experience in trading firms, hedge funds, market intelligence, or financial news organizations, demonstrating the ability to derive alpha from news.
• Profound understanding of real-time information flows and their influence on price formation.
• Knowledge of news dissemination, monitoring high-impact sources, individuals, and topics in real time.
• Familiarity with precision/recall scoring techniques for optimizing alert systems.

Technical & Analytical Skills:

• Proficiency in using social media aggregation platforms like X Pro (TweetDeck).
• Experience working with unstructured data and text analytics.
• Knowledge of market data, financial data charting, and analytics.
• Proficient in scripting and querying languages such as Python, Rust, and SQL.

Operational & Communication Skills:

• Exceptional attention to detail to manage various market themes simultaneously.
• Ability to make quick, well-informed decisions in high-pressure scenarios, including analyzing and responding to critical market-moving events accurately.
• Excellent communication skills to convey key insights and discoveries effectively to traders and researchers.
