We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our Anti-Fraud team stationed at our London office. This team is an integral part of our Brokerage team, influencing anti-fraud and payment-related strategies. Your primary responsibility will involve identifying, investigating, and preventing fraudulent activities within our cryptocurrency platform. Leveraging your expertise in data analysis, pattern recognition, and risk assessment, you will ensure the security and compliance standards of our ecosystem are maintained. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the dynamic realm of cryptocurrency while addressing complex challenges in fraud prevention.
As a Fraud Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in guiding significant fraud-related decisions and collaborating closely with various teams such as product managers, backend, and front-end engineers. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about understanding the dynamics of fraud and resolving real-world issues. This position requires proactive problem-solving, thorough issue identification, and solution development.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze large sets of transactional and user data to detect patterns, trends, and anomalies indicating fraudulent behavior. Utilize findings to propose preventive measures against emerging fraudulent patterns.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics linked to fraud prevention efforts, offering regular reports and insights to stakeholders.
- Continually assess and adjust risk factors by adapting models and strategies to combat evolving threats and align with regulatory demands.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Engineering, Product Management, and Compliance to embed risk mitigation strategies into our platform's framework.
- Present insightful findings and conclusions to key stakeholders through concise reports, presentations, and dashboards.
- Keep abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in risk management and fraud detection within the cryptocurrency sector.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on fraud-related topics, delivering guidance, training, and support to internal teams as necessary.
- Conduct in-depth research on Fraud & Money Laundering mechanisms, payment methods, and how fraudsters exploit them, ultimately impacting revenue, profitability, and user experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in data analysis.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in a STEM field.
- Proficient in data mining, statistical analysis, with practical experience using tools like Python, Bigquery, and SQL.
- Strong grasp of statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and experimental design, with the capacity to apply these concepts to real-world scenarios.
- Familiarity with blockchain technology, cryptocurrency protocols, and challenges associated with fraud and risk in the crypto space is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, self-driven, dynamic environment with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
- Knowledge of anti-fraud and Fiat payment methods is an asset.
- Proficiency in machine learning techniques is highly desirable.
