Description

~~Ethena Labs is a pioneering force in the DeFi space, dedicated to developing cutting-edge financial products. We are focused on creating solutions for the modern finance landscape, aimed at bridging the gap between traditional finance and the digital asset economy. Our mission centers around offering globally accessible, crypto-native financial products, promoting transparency, efficiency, and financial empowerment for both individuals and institutions.

At Ethena Labs, we are actively engaged in the development and deployment of innovative products to tackle key challenges and capitalize on new opportunities within the digital finance ecosystem.

Our primary product, USDe, is a synthetic dollar backed by digital assets, uniquely maintained through a delta-neutral hedging strategy for scalability and censorship resistance. In addition to USDe, we offer sUSDe, a rewarding crypto-native savings asset derived from funding rates in derivatives markets.

Continuing our drive towards institutional adoption of digital assets, our USDtb stablecoin, developed in collaboration with Securitize and Blackrocks BUIDL fund, offers an asset-backed stablecoin option leveraging traditional financial infrastructure. Furthermore, iUSDe caters to traditional financial institutions, providing compliance features to enable them to access our protocol's rewards in an institutional-friendly manner.

Our ambitious flagship project, Converge, a collaborative initiative with Securitize, aims to establish a hybrid blockchain platform that harmonizes DeFi with the requirements of CeFi and TradFi, serving as a foundational layer for tokenized assets and facilitating institutional participation in the decentralized economy.

By offering these innovative financial solutions, Ethena Labs is not just designing new products but building the critical infrastructure for a more interconnected, efficient, and open global financial system.

Join us in a Senior Engineer role, contributing to the design, development, and scalability of our core products and engineering systems, with a focus on enhancing backend architecture and integrations for a large user base. You will be accountable for improving the reliability, performance, and maintainability of our services across multiple systems, including APIs, security features, websites, and databases. Your efforts in automation and operational resilience will drive achievement of objectives, reduce bottlenecks, and allow leadership to focus on strategic initiatives and product exploration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhancing backend infrastructure by optimizing existing Python systems for scalability.
  • Developing secure, well-documented APIs for core functions such as asset minting/redeeming.
  • Managing new integration requests, streamlining processes through automation.
  • Improving system reliability and security with automated failover and robust error handling.
  • Collaborating with the product engineering team to deliver features efficiently.
  • Mentoring engineers on backend best practices and scalable architecture.
  • Establishing modern development processes, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for engineering excellence and automation.
  • Conducting system audits and post-mortems to future-proof the platform against escalating user and transaction demands.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in backend development, specifically in Python for scalable API and integration development.
  • Experience with security-focused API development and database design optimization in high-performance environments.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure tools like AWS/GCP, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
  • Ability to scale systems efficiently to handle increasing loads with a focus on latency reduction and resource optimization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability to fast-paced environments, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent collaboration and mentorship abilities.
  • Willingness to rapidly acquire an understanding of crypto-native concepts if not already versed in them.

Join Ethena Labs for a challenging opportunity at the forefront of decentralized finance, working in a collaborative and innovative environment that supports growth and learning in a flexible remote-friendly setting. If you share our commitment to revolutionizing decentralized finance, we invite you to apply and join us in reshaping the future of global finance.**
