Key Responsibilities:

Joining Circle as the initial Data Science hire focused on Machine Learning, your core responsibilities will concentrate on two pivotal challenges. You will work on enhancing the identification of potentially illicit transactions and actors and optimizing reserve allocation to mitigate systemic risks. This role plays a critical part in supporting our commitment to compliance and security within the cryptocurrency sphere. Beyond these areas, you will engage in additional research endeavors, exploring diverse problem-solving opportunities across the business landscape.

Primary Tasks:

• Spearheading the development, enhancement, and maintenance of models related to identifying illicit transactions and optimizing reserve allocation.
• Expanding machine learning applications across pivotal areas of value to Circle.
• Partnering with cross-functional teams to understand underlying problems, construct model inputs, develop accurate models, integrate them into production, and monitor their effectiveness.
• Conducting thorough analyses to unearth customer behavior patterns, extract actionable insights, and inform strategic product decisions.
• Collaborating with colleagues to communicate research results, business analysis findings, and recommendations effectively across various levels of the organization.
• Analyzing blockchain activity data to gain insights into trading dynamics, incentives, and USDC's role within the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Expected Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis or data science with a focus on machine learning, preferably within relevant fields like KYC, anti-fraud detection, or crypto/blockchain analytics.
• Proficiency in SQL and a substantive programming language such as Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• In-depth understanding of machine learning principles and practical applications.
• Proven track record in designing and deploying production-ready machine learning models.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication abilities to articulate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Starting Pay Range: $147,500 - $195,000

Annual Bonus Target: 12.5%

Circle follows a discretionary vacation policy along with 10 days of paid sick leave and 11 paid holidays annually in the U.S.
