About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Loss Forecasting to join our expanding team. This position involves designing, developing, and implementing firmwide quantitative models and algorithms to support the company's lending strategies. The role includes leading the research and development of proprietary models for various product sectors such as non-QM and home equity mortgages, to provide comprehensive analytics for assessing portfolio-level risk and returns.
This role requires a team player who can work on cross-over projects, grasp complex concepts, and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate should be intellectually curious, proactive, detail-oriented, and adept at working within tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Create, implement, and manage a comprehensive modeling framework.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of forecasting/credit models and adjust them to accommodate changing business strategies.
- Lead the collection and analysis of relevant data for forecasting and fine-tuning models.
- Interpret forecast model outputs based on portfolio trends, business actions, and assumptions.
- Modify inputs and outputs for scenario testing or regression testing of models.
- Oversee monthly and quarterly reporting and commentary preparation with precision and timeliness.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a quantitative role in the financial services industry.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, R, C++, or Java.
- Experience with big data manipulation tools, cloud-based model implementation, and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with machine learning, data mining, econometric modeling, and statistical modeling.
- Understanding of prepayment, default, and loss models.
