About the Role:

As a member of the CDI Engineering team, you will be a Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing, building, and testing new features on the Core Platform. Collaboration with Engineering, Governance, Product, and Sales teams will be key to delivering on the technical roadmap and ensuring high performance and scalability of our backend services. As CDI's products are critical for informing investment strategies, platform security and reliability are of utmost importance.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and implement new backend features using Python or NodeJS.
• Collaborate with Product, Governance, and Sales teams to deliver on the product roadmap.
• Define backend requirements for tools that enhance the analysis, reporting, and display of indices data.
• Work with software architects and technical leads to ensure scalability and reliability in decision making.
• Build infrastructure components that optimize developer experience and platform performance.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, providing solutions.
• Contribute to technical documentation on software architecture and coding frameworks.
• Participate in code reviews and offer constructive feedback.
• Mentor fellow engineering team members.

About You:

• At least 6 years of software engineering experience working on distributed systems at scale.
• Proficiency and demonstrated experience in Python (required), and experience with Java and/or C++ is a plus.
• Expertise in Object-Oriented principles and other software design paradigms.
• Knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud-based development using ECS and Lambda.
• Experience with third-party tools such as Kafka and Redis.
• Understanding of web services and API layers, specifically REST/JSON.
• Proficiency in using build and development tools like Docker and Git.
• Bonus points for familiarity with modern front-end technologies and frameworks like React/NextJs.
• Experience with DevOps methodologies including Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Trunk Based Development.
• Well-versed in Agile Methodologies and previous experience working in a Scrum environment.
• Strong ownership, accountability, and efficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Full professional proficiency in English is required.
