Senior Tax Associate, Transfer Pricing
The Finance & Accounting team is a diverse group encompassing functions like Financial Control, Business Performance Management, Procurement, Digital Transformation, Tax, Treasury, and Operations. Working together, the team focuses on optimizing global financial initiatives with a keen eye for detail and efficiently managing multiple project scopes.
The Transfer Pricing Senior Associate will play a key role in managing the company's transfer pricing policies and documentation. They will be responsible for implementing intercompany transactions, preparing Local File/Master File documentation, and ensuring compliance with Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) requirements. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, experience in financial services or technology-driven environments, and the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams to oversee complex intercompany structures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and reconcile intercompany journal entries for transfer pricing, ensuring alignment with global tax accounting standards.
- Assist in the development and upkeep of transfer pricing documentation (Local File, Master File, CbCR) following OECD guidelines and local regulations.
- Support the preparation and monitoring of the Group's transfer pricing model, including the implementation of transfer pricing policies and legal agreements for intercompany transactions.
- Liaise with finance teams and advisors to ensure timely submission of CbCR, BEPS Pillar 2, and other transfer pricing filings.
- Conduct financial analyses and benchmarking to substantiate transfer pricing positions, collaborating with external advisors for project completion.
- Coordinate with accounting, legal, treasury, and business units to align transfer pricing activities with other business functions.
- Provide assistance in tax and financial audits, preparing necessary responses and documentation.
- Optimize processes and leverage tax, accounting, and AI technology for efficient data collection and reporting.
- Stay informed about global tax and transfer pricing regulations, OECD guidelines, and industry developments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; advanced degree or certification preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in transfer pricing or tax, with at least 2 years in-house or at a Big 4/consulting firm; fintech/tech sector background is advantageous.
- Profound understanding of OECD guidelines, Local File/Master File requirements, BEPS Pillar 2, and CbCR.
- Ability to adapt and take a hands-on approach to operational transfer pricing.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and relevant tools (e.g., Bloomberg, royalty software).
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERPs and tax software is desirable.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with a proactive approach to driving workstreams.
- Independent yet collaborative mindset, thriving in a dynamic work environment.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; Chinese proficiency preferred.
