Software Developer In Test (SDET)
R3 is at the forefront of enabling the seamless transition of trillions of dollars of assets onto the blockchain, harmonizing traditional finance (TradFi) with decentralized finance (DeFi). Our focus is on introducing high-quality RWA yield vaults tailored for institutional use, which are fully integratable within the Solana DeFi ecosystem.
We are in search of a Senior QA SDET to play a key role in enhancing the quality standards of R3's suite of products. Working within a cross-functional engineering team that adopts an agile approach, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust automated testing solutions covering APIs, UI, and backend components. Your duties will include improving automation frameworks, mentoring junior team members, and advocating for testing standards and quality throughout the project development phases.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in test engineering, a profound knowledge of automation best practices, and a proactive attitude when collaborating with various teams. Prior experience in working with distributed systems in a cloud-native setting is essential, with a plus for those with financial services experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and upkeep automated test cases and frameworks for both functional and non-functional testing
- Promote quality practices within the team by providing guidance on testability during the design and implementation stages
- Spearhead testing strategies across services, microservices, and UIs for large-scale distributed systems
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers in Agile ceremonies to ensure test coverage meets business requirements
- Take charge of test planning and execution for designated features or product segments to ensure timely and high-quality deliveries
- Document, prioritize, and manage defects using tracking tools like JIRA
- Analyze test outcomes, create quality metrics, and effectively communicate risks and obstacles
- Guide and support junior QA engineers while fostering automation best practices across teams
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or similar languages, demonstrating expertise in developing maintainable test automation code
- 4-6 years of practical experience in test automation and manual QA roles, particularly in Agile environments
- Competence in utilizing test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Appium, REST Assured, Postman, SoapUI, Cucumber, Serenity, and Database Testing
- Sound familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with testing in distributed systems and microservice architectures
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities
Nice to Haves:
- Exposure to financial services, fintech, or trading system technologies
- Previous experience in leading test strategy for medium-to-large projects or components
- Familiarity with tools like XRAY, TestRail, Grafana, Kibana, or Prometheus for test management and observability
- Understanding of performance, reliability, or security testing approaches
- ISTQB/CSTE certification
