BitGo is currently seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Prime Engineering team in developing new features and applications for their enterprise clientele. The Prime team's focus is on enhancing BitGo's capabilities as a top digital assets Prime Broker for businesses.

This role primarily operates remotely, with an expectation for individuals within a convenient commuting distance to the office to be present on Wednesdays.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop robust APIs, libraries, and services to support financial services like clearing and settlement, digital asset lending, trading, and liquidity
• Own the functionality and scalability features throughout the development lifecycle from inception to deployment and integration
• Document and expose functionality to UI, third-party developers, and both internal and external tools
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure consistent understanding of technical requirements and quality of work
• Provide mentorship to peers within the broader engineering team through code reviews and sharing best practices

Skills & Experience:

Required

• Minimum 8 years of backend software development experience
• Expertise in algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis
• Proficiency in server-side languages like TypeScript/Node.JS
• Demonstrated experience with SQL databases such as Postgres or MySQL
• Strong familiarity with RESTful API design
• Knowledge of unit and functional testing, as well as debugging
• Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures
• Proficiency in Git/GitHub, branching methodologies, code review tools, CI tools, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for system support

Preferred

• Background in Financial Services and/or Financial Technology
• Proficiency in asynchronous programming
• Experience with functional programming
• Prior involvement in developing or supporting financial accounting systems (e.g., general ledger, bookkeeping)
• Familiarity with digital asset trading, lending, or wallets
• Full-stack experience and familiarity with React
• Experience with large-scale, real-time, and distributed applications
• Exposure to working with clients and business partners
• Strong interest in cryptocurrencies and the blockchain industry

Pay Transparency Notice: The compensation for this role typically ranges between $185,000 - $235,000 USD base salary, depending on level and location. This package also includes equity, an annual performance bonus, and the listed benefits.
