Position Responsibilities:

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Circle, you will play a crucial role in designing, constructing, and upkeeping Circle's infrastructure suite to cater to the expanding worldwide customer base across multiple regions on public cloud platforms. Leveraging your expertise, knowledge, and skills, you will ensure the optimal performance and stability of Circle's products and integral systems. Key Duties:

  • Assisting multiple development teams with an agile, responsive CI/CD platform to deploy high-quality builds with quantifiable performance and excellence.
  • Creating, maintaining, enhancing, scaling, and securing cloud infrastructure and assets using IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
  • Automating operational tasks using Go, Python, and serverless solutions such as AWS Lambda and Kubernetes Jobs.
  • Managing and monitoring Kubernetes clusters for various production workloads.
  • leading the advancement of Circle's blockchain infrastructure by managing blockchain nodes across diverse blockchains including Algorand, Ethereum, Hedera, Flow, Solana, Stellar, and Tron.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation to swiftly address any disruptions in production systems and conduct root cause analyses.
  • Planning and executing disaster recovery scenarios for a highly available microservices architecture.
  • Collaborating with the Security team to develop and maintain security-focused tools and frameworks ensuring robust security measures.
  • Engaging with team members, offering mentorship, and contributing to the growth and scaling of the team.

Skills and Experience Expectations:

For Senior Site Reliability Engineer:

  • At least 4 years of experience in DevOps or SRE roles, focusing on tooling, automation, and infrastructure on a leading public cloud provider.
  • Proficiency in coding/scripting with languages such as Go, Python, and Shell.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in building and maintaining CI/CD platforms and supporting agile engineering teams in developing microservices.
  • Strong expertise in various areas including Docker containers, Kubernetes clusters, modern CI/CD platforms, distributed blockchain systems, database technologies like PostgreSQL and Redis, data warehousing, networking, APM, RUM, monitoring, Helm charts, Terraform, and cloud deployments.
  • Solid abilities in observability, troubleshooting, and improving the tech stack layers.
  • Remarkable communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to peers and stakeholders.

For Staff Site Reliability Engineer:

  • Over 7 years of experience in DevOps or SRE roles, with a focus on tooling, automation, and infrastructure on a major public cloud provider.
  • Past technical leadership in architectural design and system development.
  • In-depth understanding/experience in API design, cloud services, containers, Kubernetes, SQL databases, and maintaining coding standards.
  • Strong emphasis on coding standards and meticulous test coverage.

Additional Information:

Compensation Details:

Senior Site Reliability Engineer:

  • Base Pay Range: $147,500 - $195,000
  • Annual Bonus Target: 12.5%

Staff Site Reliability Engineer:

  • Base Pay Range: $172,500 - $227,500
  • Annual Bonus Target: 15%
