Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain precise financial statements in adherence to Japanese accounting standards and internal protocols.
  • Account Reconciliation: Conduct regular reconciliations of exchange accounts, bank accounts, crypto wallets, and general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Crypto Transactions and Accounting: Oversee the accounting and reporting of cryptocurrency transactions, encompassing purchases, sales, trades, and wallets while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Internal Controls and Audit: Develop and uphold internal controls to protect assets and guarantee the accuracy of financial records. Support internal and external audit procedures.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide insights on financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement related to exchange operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Keep abreast of local and global regulations concerning cryptocurrencies and ensure adherence to Japanese financial regulations particularly those established by the Financial Services Agency (FSA).
  • Tax Compliance: Manage all tax-related affairs including the preparation and submission of tax returns according to Japanese tax laws encompassing corporate tax, consumption tax, and other relevant taxes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the global finance team and other departments such as legal, operations, and compliance to ensure streamlined operations and reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA certification is desirable.
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in Finance and Accounting.
  • Proficient communication skills in English and Japanese both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong technical accounting acumen and practical experience in a dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
