Application Support Engineer

About the Role:
We are searching for a motivated, creative, and self-starting individual to join the application support team. This position involves ensuring the smooth operation and administration of the Exchange and Clearing Organization. Additionally, there is a focus on initiating innovation and automation of processes and procedures. As a team member, you will play a critical role in maintaining the technical prowess of the Nadex Platform, Exchange, and Clearing Organization. Ideal for technically inclined candidates looking to advance their careers in a fast-paced Exchange trading setting.
Responsibilities:
- Offer expert-level remote management, administration, and support for Production and Demo trading exchanges, including ensuring system availability, application stability, performance optimization, version upgrades, daily monitoring, issue resolution, and contract settlement.
- Engage in the development, enhancement, and continual refinement of operational processes and service delivery.
- Investigate, implement, and operate third-party tools aimed at automating, improving, and streamlining service operations.
- Provide assistance in addressing a wide range of issues beyond the specified job scope when required.
- Maintain coverage during nights and weekends on a rotational basis within a 24/7 operational environment.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Possess a minimum of 5 years' experience managing or supporting mission-critical production software applications.
- Strong aptitude for technical troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Experience in incident management within a production or regulated environment.
- Proficiency or hands-on experience with Linux operating systems, scripting/automation (e.g., Bash or Python), and system monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Zabbix, Logic Monitor).
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Preparedness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, ingrained in a 24/7 support model.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in financial services, fintech, trading exchanges, or trading system applications.
- Knowledge or experience in options and futures trading markets.
- Familiarity with AWS, Argo CD, AMQ/Kafka/Tomcat, high availability systems, networks, FIX protocol, Scila, Splunk, and Python.
- Proficiency in SQL, job scheduling software, and clustered/high availability environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to process enhancement.
