Business Development at Wintermute
We seek a dynamic Business Development & Partnerships Director in New York to bolster and facilitate our ambitious growth trajectory in the region. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of the US financial services markets from both traditional finance and digital assets perspectives. Your role will encompass expanding Wintermute's global business endeavors, be it through forging new partnerships or nurturing existing relationships.
As the Business Development & Partnerships Director at Wintermute, you will take ownership of opportunities in the region, crafting and executing strategic growth plans autonomously while benefiting from mentorship and advice from the team. Exercising no legacy processes or corporate bureaucracy, we uphold the highest standards of professionalism while fostering an environment conducive to innovation and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Broaden institutional OTC business globally, including formulating and executing growth plans in the designated region.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to introduce and launch new products to the market, incorporating customer feedback and spearheading launch strategies.
- Expand the crypto project Liquidity provision business by augmenting relationships with high-profile projects in the region, alongside local VCs and other vital ecosystem participants.
- Establish and cultivate partner relationships with crucial entities such as exchanges, custodians, lenders, and other indispensable infrastructure providers.
- Implement a structured business development approach, optimizing operational efficiency in alignment with the teams (e.g., CRM utilization, campaign effectiveness).
- Stay abreast of significant launches and developments in the crypto sector, proactively identifying collaboration and business development prospects.
Hard Skills Requirements:
- Hands-on experience in both traditional financial services and digital asset domains from top-performing teams.
- Minimum of 3 years of FICC sales experience (voice or electronic) with institutional clients.
- Background in eCommerce is advantageous.
- Proficiency in spot and derivatives OTC products, particularly options.
- Prior experience in business development, partnerships, or client-facing roles like B2B sales or investment banking.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver tangible business outcomes; adept at discussing numbers and quota achievements.
- Outstanding communication skills, encompassing both verbal and written proficiency, with an emphasis on educating counterparties about services.
- Trading or crypto knowledge is advantageous; a keen interest in understanding blockchain technologies, algorithmic trading, and Liquidity provision is vital.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
