Who You Are:
Galaxy is on the lookout for a talented and driven individual to assume the role of Cloud Automation Team (CAT) Lead within our organization. As the head of our Cloud Automation Team, this individual will spearhead efforts to bolster our cloud infrastructure, DevOps processes, and application development teams. The CAT Lead's responsibilities encompass delivering automation solutions and orchestrating seamless collaboration within the team to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable operations.
What You’ll Do:
Leadership and Team Coordination:
- Guide, mentor, and coordinate a compact team of automation engineers.
- Supervise day-to-day tasks, leveraging Agile practices to ensure timely project completion at a superior standard.
- Cultivate a collaborative and forward-thinking team environment.
Hands-On Solution Delivery:
- Conceptualize, develop, and implement automation solutions supportive of cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and application rollout.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to tailor automation solutions to meet specific operational needs.
- Troubleshoot and address intricate automation challenges as they arise.
Automation Strategy and Implementation:
- Devise and execute automation strategies for cloud infrastructure, DevOps functions, and application deployment.
- Create scalable automation solutions using cutting-edge technologies and industry best practices, including Terraform, Ansible, Flux, and Kubernetes.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Generate and upkeep Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- Guarantee a consistent and replicable approach to provisioning, configuring, and managing infrastructure.
CI/CD Pipeline Development:
- Design, implement, and supervise CI/CD pipelines.
- Integrate automation tools into CI/CD pipelines to streamline development, testing, and deployment processes.
- Employ tools like Jenkins, Selenium, and Junit for enhancing CI/CD pipelines.
Monitoring and Optimization:
- Deploy monitoring and logging solutions to optimize the reliability and performance of automated processes.
- Continuously refine automation solutions to drive efficiency gains and cost reductions.
Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate closely with cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and application development teams to seamlessly integrate automation solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years in IT infrastructure, cloud services, or DevOps with a strong focus on automation.
- Minimum 3 years in a leadership role within an automation team.
- Proficient in automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Flux, Kubernetes, EKS, Selenium, Junit, Python, Bash, Go, Jenkins, and Puppet.
- Expertise in AWS services such as Lambda, RDS, and EC2.
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and best practices.
- Experience with front-end tasks like dashboard creation and internal tooling/UI development is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with acute attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Bonus Points:
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies and experience in Agile team environments.
