Compiler/PolkaVM Software Engineer

About the Team
The position is part of the Smart Contracts team, responsible for facilitating smart contract execution on Polkadot. The team deals with a spectrum of software components such as PolkaVM, revive, and the smart contract execution environment within the Polkadot ecosystem.
About the Position
We are seeking Software Engineers to contribute to the ongoing development of PolkaVM and the revive recompiler. Responsibilities include working on a cutting-edge RISC-V based virtual machine, an LLVM-based EVM to RISC-V recompiler, creating comprehensive benchmark suites to assess performance metrics against industry competitors, and integrating these technologies into the smart contract execution environment.
About You
We are looking for individuals with expertise in or a strong interest in areas such as virtual machines, RISC-V, dynamic recompilation, code optimization, low-level memory management, security sandboxing, zero knowledge proof systems, and zero knowledge virtual machines. The successful candidate should be capable of working independently, excel in a collaborative open-source setting, demonstrate ownership of their work, possess strong communication skills, and showcase the ability to present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
