Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel - Transactions, you will have a pivotal role in overseeing commercial transactions, supporting Business, Business Development, compliance, and vendor management divisions to introduce new products and expand into emerging markets.
Key Tasks:
- Collaborate closely with Product, Business, Compliance, and Finance teams at Circle, fostering strong communication and trust to achieve joint success.
- Structure, negotiate, and draft agreements relating to fintech, payments, crypto tech, and vendor transactions, managing legal risks with a business-oriented approach to fortify partnerships and drive growth opportunities.
- Enhance contract templates and terms of use to align with evolving product offerings and services.
- Contribute to establishing and refining processes, procedures, and metrics, including streamlining contracting processes to enhance the provision of legal services across the organization.
- Proactively address legal challenges in a business-centric manner, implementing problem-solving strategies, fostering partnership strength, and unlocking growth possibilities.
- Assist business leaders in contract interpretation and oversight.
- Stay updated on developments in the finance, payments, and digital currency realms to offer up-to-date compliance advice.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on legal experience, ideally encompassing law firm (AM Law 50) and in-house roles.
- Proficient in drafting and negotiating agreements in fintech, financial services, and technology sectors.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on strategic partnerships, particularly involving Product, Business, and Compliance teams.
- Nurtures a passion for financial technology, cryptocurrency, and blockchain, possesses a collaborative mindset, values mentoring, and embraces learning opportunities.
- Adaptable to dynamic environments, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently while accommodating changes flawlessly.
- Exhibits sound business judgment in legal recommendations, adept at problem-solving while balancing business risks effectively.
- Competent working autonomously with guidance and in team settings.
- JD qualification (preferably from a top-tier law school or with notable honors) and membership in at least one state bar.
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Slack, and Apple MacOS is preferred.
Additional Details:
- This position offers eligibility for PERM sponsorship from day one for qualified individuals.
- Compensation is determined based on various factors like relevant experience, qualifications, and business needs.
- Salary Range: $147,500 - $195,000
- Annual Bonus Target: 12.5%
