What you'll be responsible for:
As a member of the Data Engineering - Business ETL team, your primary responsibility is overseeing the data warehouse and pipelines critical for financial and regulatory reporting. Your efforts drive essential Circle business functions, supporting teams such as Finance, Accounting, and Analytics to enhance operational effectiveness and glean actionable insights. It is your role to revolutionize data movement within the company, ensuring utmost accuracy and quality in handling data. Your contributions directly influence Circle's transparency, trustworthiness, and accountability requirements.
What you'll work on:
- Collaborating with various cross-functional groups, notably product, engineering, analytics, and accounting teams, to structure and manage efficient data life cycles for both new and existing products.
- Developing and maintaining data ETL/ELT pipelines for sourcing and aggregating essential data for diverse analytics and reporting needs.
- Integrating data into internal and customer-facing applications to support analytical, financial, and regulatory objectives.
- Creating connections with third-party systems to acquire and distribute diverse datasets effectively.
- Continuously enhancing the performance, monitoring, and operations of the data warehouse.
- Reimagining data storage and processing methods, both within data platforms and externally with Circle business units and external applications.
- Collaborating on designing, deploying, and constantly refining a scalable data platform to centralize various datasets.
- Building expertise in data modeling, data pipelines, data quality, and financial data warehousing domains.

What you'll bring to Circle for Data Engineer II:
- 2+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python.
- Advanced competence in SQL with big data warehouse systems like Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, etc.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration management tools e.g., Airflow, Dagster, DBT.
- Experience with Cloud Services like AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
- Previous exposure to financial data; bonus points for experience in sectors like payment systems, credit cards, bank transfers, or blockchains.
- Knowledge of open-source or associated big data technologies.
- Strong aptitude for quick learning and successful delivery on medium-complexity projects.
- Self-driven with a proactive approach, delivering results efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills enabling seamless collaboration within remote teams and effective sharing of ideas.
Additional Information:
- Position eligible for day-one PERM sponsorship for qualified candidates.
- Compensation ranges for this role are determined based on various factors like relevant experience, qualifications, and business needs.
- Base Pay Range: $120,000 - $162,500, Annual Bonus Target: 10%.
- Additional benefits include equity, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plans, discretionary vacation policy, 10 days of paid sick leave per year, and 11 paid holidays per year in the U.S.
