Summary of Responsibilities
- Support Compliance and MR Officer in ensuring adherence to UAE virtual assets regulations and supervising potential expansion of responsibilities to regional compliance.
- Assist in establishing and upholding an AML/CFT compliance framework aligned with UAE laws and regulatory guidance.
- Aid in ongoing compliance with FATF standards and specific regulatory expectations for virtual assets.
- Coordinate with free zone and federal regulators for inspections, audits, and information requests.
- Establish local oversight of global processes such as transaction monitoring and market surveillance.
- Monitor transaction alerts, investigate suspicious activities, and submit required reports to regulatory bodies.
- Contribute to the development and calibration of automated monitoring systems and assist in policy drafting and updates.
- Conduct AML/CFT awareness training sessions, offer guidance on regulatory changes, and advocate for best practices.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail, investigative acumen, and robust communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in compliance tools, case management systems, and blockchain forensics platforms like Chainalysis and Elliptic is beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or related fields.
- At least 8 years of experience in compliance, AML/CFT, or regulatory affairs within the MEASA region.
- Direct experience with regional regulators such as VARA, CBUAE, SCA, and FSRA.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive mindset towards addressing compliance risks.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and display adaptability for potentially long working hours.
